Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Who is KMA?
A: We are high school musicians in Bay Area from York School, Stevenson School, Pacific Grove High School, and Carmel High School who choose to use our time volunteering at elementary schools without music programs and teaching the kids music theory and technique.

Q: What instruments do you teach?Q:
A: We teach clarinet, flute, violin, viola, cello, trombone, trumpet, piano, guitar, and chorus.

Q: How can I join the program?
A: You must contact Perry Choi (p.choi062708@gmail.com) and tell him about your musical experience. He may ask for an audition to discern your musical ability.

Q: Does KMA give performances?
A: Yes, we give benefit concerts throughout the year, and hope to create an orchestra with the kids to perform in the year.

Q: Which schools do you go to?
A:We currently only go to Oasis Charter Public Elementary, but this is only due to our limited resources (ie. instruments). We do, however, offer private lessons to anyone interested.
